Fireworks in August

Amazing, fireworks not in July! (Obviously) My first time shooting fireworks and I am curious if anyone has feedback and tips for next time. These photos really do not do it justice though. The show was amazing. A few more shtos can be viewed at www.flickr.com/photos/britstaddon/

I second Airic's thought. The crowd really help's the frame. I enjoy the lake as well.

Thank you for your replies AIRIC, Craig and Eromallagadnama.

Fireworks sure do take the camera meter for a spin, along with my fingers trying to adjust the settings for each different situation. Overall, I found that the flukes were the msot successful . I have several photos without the people, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that I also liked having them in the frame. And to think, I was a little peeved when it started to get busy. Shows me how much I know. :blushing:

Yesturday was my first time to globalfest. It was great. Just as a side note though. I think I will arrive right before the fireworks start as opposed to sitting around waiting for 3 hours. haha.
