Were you on a tripod? how did you focus? F5..9 should be fine (DOF at that distance is massive).. but stopping down will give a sharper image, as I suspect your lens is pretty much wide open at 5.9?? Shoot at F8 or F11... on a sturdy tripod. Use a remote shutter release or the self timer to actuate...
EDIT... I see you have a Finepix...With a Finepix... you will be somewhat limited in IQ.. but should be able to do better than this...
