First camera, but I think I have an idea...

I'm looking for my first camera (I go on other forums for other activities so I know how lame this question can be) and I've narrowed it down to these.

sony 35mm camera
Canon EOS Rebel 2000 Date 35mm SLR Camera

Which one do you think I should get?

Also, please relocate this because I won't be surprised if it's in the wrong section =D

That "Sony camera" is a Pentax K1000 ... with possibly a 50mm lens and a telephoto zoom ... the add does not state if the camera is in working condition ... I doubt the seller has any photo knowledge to be able to check the functions.

The Canon appears to have a 35-70mm zoom lens.

These two are quite different cameras.

K1000 is full manual ... nothing auto
The Canon offers automatic exposure and built in motor drive.
