Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
I had my class tonight where we learned how to develop the film from the negative. This is the photo I used, and my professor said that it looks good, but it could be a bit darker. I think it looks pretty good, but of course I'm going to do what my prof says to get an A in the class. It is a little grainy at the top, above the tree line. Not sure if that's from dust on the lens or possibly a smudge on the negative? Anything else you guys can point out that might help me along my process of developing this film, I'm all ears.

The photo has an f-stop of 5.6 and shutter speed of 1/500. The enlarger was set to expose light at 14 seconds with a 2.5 lens filter. He mentioned I could go a little longer with a lens filter of 1-1.5 to darken up the snow a tad more below the tree line. Let me know what you guys think, and thanks in advance for any input.:wink:

Might be good to darken the snow a bit, by burning, so the snow is not paper-white, and is distinct from the border.

Has this photo been toned? Or is the shift in color from the scan?

Frankly, I don't see any snow on my monitor. Ah, I finally have figured out where the snow is; and yes it needs burning down so it can be seen easily.

If you where in my class I would suggest more contrast, which will mean a higher grade filter. Changing filters control contrast and generally speaking times remain constant until grade 4 or above. The lower the filter grade the contrast softens.

Why not discuss this with your instructor? He is in a better positon to discuss where the images needs to be burned or dodged. We are looking at an image on monitors that may or maynot be calibrated .
