First DSLR!! D90 + 18-200mm VR vs D7000 + Cheapo Lense

Glad I went with the D7000, one question. My dad has an old Nikon SLR and I asked him about it and he said he has quite a few lenses for it, do you guys think it might fit the D7000? It was back in 98 I believe... I am super excited because I remember he had a few, I hope they fit

I'll take some pictures of the lenses once he finds it. Camera arrives tomorrow

As long as they have the f mount, which if they are Nikon they do, they will fit.

The 18-200 is a cheapo crappy lens, lenses with big zoom are a compromise

Not always. Like the 55-200mm and the 55-300mm. At 55-200mm, both lens is almost as sharp as each other.

Well dad cant find his old camera, just got my D7000.

Seriously brand spanking new, came in a special Nikon Reconditioned Box with everything sealed. I cant seriously find any flaws with the camera, checked the shutter count on the exif and its got 790 actuation's I hit the refurb lottery with this low shutter count

Now what tests should I do to check it functions properly?
