First flutterby of the year...

I ignored the weather reports (it's dropping into the 20's at the end of the week) and purchased some pollinator plants for the back. I attracted the first butterfly of the year almost immediately. This is a Large White on a Purple Pincushion. 400mm at about 24".

I can't claim credit for the term; I read it in some Victorian era novel, author forgotten to me.

We will be back in the 20s at night at the end of the week, so their life will be fleeting. I planted a wildflower patch for this year, so hopefully I will get many more and varied opportunities.
