first macor lens attempt

Still needs lots of work and to use a tripod...
but...
any thoughts?


1. Light is a little harsh

2. I find it flat

3. and I like the focus on this one, kinda wish his head wasn't rammed in the flower, but I guess that is what bee's do.

The 2nd one could use more DoF IMO. If you shot this from a different angle... like 8 o'clock... so that the whole side of the caterpillar was about the same distance from you, more would be in focus.

Awesome shot of the bee. The flower doesn't really do it for me though; it's not very pretty.

I agree with your own critique of the first one. If you could darken the highlights it would be great. This beetle is my favorite of the 3.
