First pics with new camera

Take it easy on me since I am still learning the tricks of the trade in photography and also now working with a new camera, but also give me critique.

1) My doggie

2) My attempt at the Christmas tree ornament shot

3) Seems very bland, but was trying out the macro setting

4) I wanted the "skater" in focus, but feel that the rest isn't "blurry" enough?

5) This time I wanted the house in focus and feel that I got what I wanted.

I'd say your depth of field is a little too shallow on the last two, but good to see you playing with that option. On the second to last one, it would also be better without the cabinet in the back.

Thanks. I will try to adjust my depth of field. Haven't gotten that far yet. I am just amazed at the picture quality, as compared to my old p&s
