First portrait shoot

No flash, manual settings.

Creative...i like. Looks a bit underexposed and something about the lighting is a bit off. What did you use?

I like the first two, but the onboard flash in the last one makes the lighting very flat, and gives some very harsh shadows.

First two, I used no flash at all, just natural light. It was for a photo assignment, we had to use the natural light from a north facing window.

The third, I used the on camera flash.

Thanks for the input. Any advice on fixing the lighting? Like I said, this was my first shoot indoors for "portraits" so I would love to learn as much as I can.
