First post-birds

Any suggestions? I got my first dslr (d70) last year and have had lots of fun with it. I took these recently at pawleys island, sc. I would love some feedback.

I like the shot of the hawk, very nicely done. The sea gull looks under exposed or something I am not quite sure what the issues is.

I had trouble with the seagull. I took abunch of shots of him that were under or over exposed. He was just kinda sitten there chillen.
