First post with first firework pics

Hi all!

It was bonfire night yesterday in the UK so I thought I'd take the opportunity to take my first firework pictures. I'd appreciate any comments.

Wow, I love them. I'm going to try to take some firework pictures myself on newyears eve. Any advice from your experience?

ahelg, I tried around with a few different settings but f20, 2 secs seemed to give me the best results. I set the focus just short of infinity. Obviously used a tripod. I don't have a cable release, but I guess one would probably be useful.

The biggest difficulty I had was avoiding the smoke from the fireworks. I stayed relatively close, which allowed me to shoot up and keep the smoke out of the frame.

By the way, I've been having a loook around and this forum is great!
