First time here. Is the Tiltpod a good stocking stuffer?

So this is new to me as I am a little behind in the times, but everyone here seems very knowledgeable. I am looking for a gift for my son-in-law who loves gadgets and photography. He uses a small camera and takes a lot of family photos. I found the tiltpod and thought it would make a good gift since he can't be in the pictures he takes because he is always holding the camera. Seconded. Hadn't heard of the Ultrapod, but I had a Gorilla pod at one point and it worked pretty well... Until I got a much heavier camera.

+1 for the gorilla pod. That tilt pod looks like a piece of crap. If someone stuffed my stocking with that....I would stuff their stocking with nickels......and then beat them senseless with it.:lmao:

Thanks so much for the suggestions! I checked the other two products, and my daughter already gave him a Joby which he never uses. She thinks it's just never on his mind to bring it with him and it is too much to set up. He isn't a professional photographer by any means and uses just a small camera to take pictures. So thought a simple stand that stays attached to the camera would be better. Good to know what are still the most popular options!

I've had an Ultrapod II with me for the past several years, and it's come in handy plenty. I've strapped it to sign posts, tree limbs, fences, and just used it upright as a mini-tripod. It's a handy little piece of gear for the price.

My UltraPod lives in the bottom of my primary camera bag...never in the way and always ready for duty.
