Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Hello all, very new to the forum and also new to digital photography. I recently got Lightroom and am even newer to that! Took a few shots today while out walking just looking for any input on the photo.

Shot with a canon T3 with a 28-135 EF lens.

I look forward to learning from you all thanks in advance for any advice/Input

Here is one more shot. This little guy was so friendly he wanted to be right on my feet which made it hard to get a good shot but here's my best of him. Was very fun trying to catch him at the right moments! $ImageUploadedByTapatalk1407107501.023802.webp

A nice start. Neither subject is all that interesting and the lighting is flat. Don't let that comment discourage you. Keep shooting, and expermenting with light, framing and perspective. We all started somewhere.

Composition wise not overly interesting I can definitely see that, got a new lens and went for a walk these were the better ones I came away with today, overall like the lens just didn't see anything on my neighborhood today that really popped.

As far as the lighting being flat any suggestions on how to improve that?

And I def do not feel discouraged, joining this forum has given me a great amount of motivation seeing all the fantastic pictures! I am no where now but I will be someday thanks for commenting I truly appreciate it.

With lighting, you can either fake it (ie-flash or other not natural light source), work with what you got (use reflector, gobo or difusion panel), or wait for the right light to come (like sunrise/sunset). Its all just going to take time and practice, playing around with different effects.

Thanks again for the Input! I took a few years of photography in high school about 10 years ago but that was all with film and dark rooms, digital is all new to me. It's also amazing (in a bad way) how much of those classes have left my mind over the years!

I've only had Lightroom for a few weeks and the camera and lens not much longer. At this point anything and every piece of advice or critique is such a learning opportunity for me.

All that film and darkroom knowledge still applies. I highly recomend Scott Kelby's books: Digital Photography 1-4, there may even be a 5 by now. And most important, but most over looked.... READ YOUR CAMERA MANUAL AND LENS MANUAL!!!! Seriously, its that important. OH, and don't get sucked into the "I need this piece of gear to be better" rabbit hole. Work for awhile with what you have so that you don't buy something that you ultimately won't use.

Currently no money for any extra gear so that's probably a good thing! Like you said will get good with what I gave!

Thank you for the book recommendations I will def check them out.

And here is one last shot for the day same little squirrel $ImageUploadedByTapatalk1407109496.098475.webp

much better perspective! I took the liberty of adjusting the photo. I fiddled with the color balance and bumped exposure. You can do all of that in Lightroom.

Not sure how I missed this picture the first time I went through the thumbnails def a better shot subject wise.

I will keep playing with it in Lightroom. I'm amazed how much you can change with minor adjustments.
