What's new

First time with the new hassy :)

I personally like the way it is EXCEPT the placement of the model's hands bothers me. Almost like an optical illusion of both hands blending together into one abnormally large hand.
^ this. The hands were the first thing I noticed.

I thought it was a guy, too.:er:

oooOOOOoooooo

I'm either getting too old (i'm not that old)

or

I'm having 80s flash backs when women wore their hair short and men wore hair long along (with make-up)

That's a funny one because I cut my hair when I got tired of looking like a redneck. Maybe you need to move to the boondocks for a while. You would realize that an awful lot of redneck men wear long hair.

What a difference... But it now shows some other serious problems. Nothing much looks right in his clothes.

And his hands still bother me.

What's bothering you about the clothes? I think they're fine. Maybe they just don't agree with your personal aesthetic sensibilities...

No idea what the technical terms would be but it is not a problem of taste, I swear.

The way the black is shown looks like a geological/military map. It sure doesn't look like fabric.

There are many ways to wear long hair.. (all of them are perfectly fine btw.. matter of taste). I am almost positive that the rednecks in the boondocks look nothing like what I had in mind.

It is called moire. It is a problem with digital medium formats. Because they don't have an AA filter. This results in much higher detail but depending on clothing it can cause moire. This particular texture of clothing caused it pretty bad.

My setup is now for sale if anyone is interested. I'm moving to a phase one p40+ and Phase One DF setup.

Not bad. The edit looks like a contrast boost, and that's about it.

Don't think I like it - takes away from the detail..

When did 'OK to edit' become 'please edit every shot I post'?

Not necessarily a comment on you, william, but it seems that whenever someone posts a picture - one of the first replies is 'here's me edit'. I don't really like that, and that's the main reason my profile says 'NOT OK to edit'...

If I want edits, I'll ask for them. ...Just my opinion, I'm sure others feel differently.

I'm generally kind of OK with moire so long as it isn't in color.

It is a guy. This is an androgeny themed shoot. And The picture is overexposed whenever I upload it to this site for some reason.

I don't prefer the edit that was done. The contrast is perfect on my monitor. It has been de-saturated because I wanted it to be.

Early, atrocious is a pretty strong word, and I don't think this picture deserves that at all. Considering the desaturation was done on purpose.

And pale is the thing in fashion. Pale is in. Go take a look at some french or italian vogues. This is by far no poorly styled glamour shoot where the model is overly warm.

you asked for CC, which would be someone else's opinions regarding the shot then attempt to justify all the reasons the posted pic looks crap, this is the reason I don't cc, pale might be "in" now, 5 minutes down the line it will be "out" same as every other effect produced for the fashion market, try creating new style and not copy someones fashion work, no doubt with your unlimited funds you'll be able to swan your way into the market once you get over needing cc from others on your shots. Unlimited Funds?
I'm a student who works as a photographer. Every dollar I've spent on photography equipment I've made from the following:
1.Paid Photoshoots
2.Buying and reselling equipment.
3.Selling my car that I spent my whole life working for prior to photography.

Before you go accusing someone of unlimited funds, think twice.I ask for C&C because I've found that it has helped me get where I am today. I defend the pale look, because that IS what I was going for. I am an ambitious photographer who is willing to do everything and anything to make it in the tough industry of fashion. I've gotten plenty of useful critiques over the past couple months that have helped me out.
And thanks for saying my pic looks like "crap". I don't think anyones work deserves a comment like that, or the word "atrocious"
PS: viewed your website...
