First Wedding...oh boy

This was done for free, I wanted to get my feet wet and they were happy to oblige, here is a few from a large collection. The lighting was very difficult, it literally changed from brutally sunny to very cloudy every 10 minutes. So let me know you what you think, I have my stress ball and coffee here on my desk, so I'm ready for the sharks...i think.

FYI - there is a lot of black and white and split toning, and if you dig thru the set, there is even a couple of selective coloring, those are by the brides request, not mine.

You need to fix white balance in a few, otherwise you should be proud of these as a first wedding!

My one real complaint is the blown out sky, and some minor facial shadowing on some of the outdoor shots. #7, #9, and #11 (I think! Please number shots if you post this many.. makes them easier to refer too!)

If you had used flash, you could have controlled the background exposures, and not blown them out... it would have also improved the shadowing on the subjects.

That sepia tone is just AWFUL, but you're stuck if the bride wanted that. Oh well.

I did use flash on some of them when I thought the lighting wasn't adequate, although I'm not sure which ones I used it on, off the top off my head. I agree on the face shadowing though, the outdoor lighting constantly changing was quite a handful. Thanks.

Which of those in particular not exposed properly? Besides 72 being under exposed due to the shadows, I'm curious which one's you're referring to.

Good job for your first wedding! I love the second one, but next time, maybe straighten the left side of the belt of the bow so that it's not sticking out so much? That is just me, though.

It's mostly the blown out backgrounds, not under exposure. Learn how to use flash in order to obtain proper back and foreground exposures.

Ah yes, that one in particular was a headache, I stared at it so long I think i gave up on it. That was one of those moments was WB was set to cloudy and then the sun popped thru and made her shoulder and skin tone just glow. I think I'll take it back into LR and see if I can fix it again. Thanks!

I realize the cake in the face is a great shot to get, but this couples choice of pie (cherry?) is odd. To me it looks like she just got punched in the nose and it is now bleeding.

So right... I think that this is one of those shots where context is important...
Knowing the story makes it an awesome shot. Not knowing the story makes it a bloody nose. A pretty bad bloody nose! LOL!

That was actually the reason I posted, I thought it was funny and obviously there is a bit of humor in a girl having a bloody nose on her wedding day. Clearly that is not the case. I think it's ok to have a little humor in photos, they were a fun group and had a blast.

This actually looks a lot like my original photo, the edited one was adjusted to give them a warm glow with the sun highlighting their hair.

As far as the other attached file you have, I have no idea what that is lol. that is not exif data from my camera, since I don't own a Sony.
