First wedding C&C

Yeah, OP. I think you had your odds stacked against you with the Xsi w/ the kit lens. I can't foresee that doing well in a dim church. I would have put the 50mm f/1.8 on the Xsi if that were my second body (since it probably doesn't handle noise as well as the T1i). You did a decent job at your first wedding as a 3rd shooter. Keep at it.

Yeah i was debating on using the Xsi at all. cus i seriously hate the thing lol. But ill keep that in mind next time and shoot longer stuff at higher iso with my t1i. And thanks man, it was tough, but i enjoy a challenge.

I agree with you that weddings are definitely a challenge.

I did a single wedding as a favor to a friend who had already hired someone to do their photos. Between being on my feet in dress shoes all day and staying out of the other photographer's way and also trying to get good photos of my own - well it was just exhausting and stressful.

The best thing you can do when in a situation like that, I think, is to watch the pro work and pick their brain if you can. I got some good tips on how to capture the details properly (like the decorations at the reception).

Regardless if the OP was the third shooter, they asked for C&C and it was given. They should know just how harsh the people here are. Advice is advice.

I admire the OP's strength and ability to take criticism.

I just don't think of saying "Did you take these with an iPhone?" is advice.

I'm obviously outnumbered though.

I think the OP did a good job with the equipment he had and is obviously on the right track to doing even better the next time!

Lol I'm fine with you telling me i suck Bram. And thanks misstwinkly, did you ever post pics of that wedding you shot a while ago? I never saw.

Im just saying if you wanted to tell me i sucked, im fine with that. I told you already i was gunna focus on focusing.

Somewhere, there are pics on the forums, but they're on my flickr. :)

I just snooped. Not bad at all for such horrible lighting conditions i remember seeing in your first post about the wedding.

Thanks Tim. :) I tried. Bride was happy and I learned a lot so I couldn't really ask for more.
