Came across these Skunk Cabbage Spathes emerging today along a creek. Within the Spathe is an egg shaped growth called a Spadix which in addition to being able to create heat(thermogenic) also has the tiny white flowers arranged on it. In a bit, when it's safe, the Spathes will open up, exposing the Spadix/flowers for pollination by bees/flies.
