I had the same idea cross my mind when I was at that location, you can't really tell from the picture but I was zoomed in fully with my 300mm lens, and thats as close as I got to the forest of fishing rods. I just decided to go with the closest guy.

the DOF and the angle do a great job of pulling you into the picture and drawing you to the man. Nice!
