They're not HDR.

Just curious, why diaphragm is so stopped down, to f/10-f/13? You are bumping a diffraction limit here.

Kinda glare-y for my tastes and the same effect in each image makes the set look like a one-trick pony.

Too much of what makes me uncomfortable, to little of what makes me smile. Everything just seems to be wrong about these - length of shutter, aperture, lines, perspective..it's all just on the edge but too far past to save you from the fall.

And, you are likely correct in that assumption. However, as you will note from my edit, the things I felt were too-too much. I've highlighted each area I worked on with a different color.

Starting with the yellow vertical lines, the lens distortion is too great for the eye (well, at least mine) to be comfortable. I did a correction on both sides.

The blue highlighted area was too bright, lacking specific definition, especially on the right side. I used a gradient fill with selective masking to give that side more presence.

The red circles indicate all the lens flares corrected.

And, the slightly magenta highlight I used a bit of a gradient fill to darken the sky where I cloned the biggest lens flare. I had to significantly mask back the buildings after the fill.

The edit by no means represents a great image, but I think it does at least explain what I felt was wrong with this set as each of them suffers from much the same maladies as this one.
