Flower shot with a new lens

I picked up a Cannon 50mm 1.8 the other day and LOVE it!

The centredness works PERFECTLY here, and the chosen DOF is also perfect and the colours are lovely, and exposure is spot-on and ... that lens is great, isn't it? I am so happy about mine, too!

I want to get focus like that!!! Wow, beautiful! I just bought a f1.4 lens and have yet to try it out on flowers. Is that a dahlia?

I don't think that's necessary, besides the dark green background really help the flower's colors to stand out more.
