wow I really love the first one. it's so clear and detailed. looks a lot cooler than I would think a fly would.

thank you for commenting. I find that a lot of insects are really amazing looking. You would never know it with the naked eye.

How do you approach shooting these insects. i mean, do you just set out with your macro looking at the ground and leaves? in a forest?

Yep, that's all I do. Once you you start paying attention and looking for them, you'll be amazed at the things you've overlooked for years.

These are great. I'm always amazed with your wonderful macros. I must ask though...on the first picture the fly's left eye (camera right)...is that a piece of dust from your sensor? Just thought I'd point that little round spot out in case you need to clone it out or something.

Everytime i set out with the macro, i just have to shoot some flies. Those eyes are just amazing.
