Went for fish-and-chips and took the camera - there were more than a few soaring around eager to see if anyone happened to leave their food unattended!

Nice! It's so easy to underexpose a subject that is back-lit like this. Your gull is well exposed and this image is incredibly sharp - every belly feather stands out clearly. Good job.

Thanks Terri - yeah this camera works awesome at resolution even on full frame with the 100-500mm. I can't tell how much is the fullframe sensor and just regular advance of sensor tech over my 7D but yeah the whites and darks feel ever so much easier to work with, esp for shots like this with more backlighting going on.
