Focus accuracy: Nikon 50mm 1.4 af-d vs. 50mm af-s g

Hi. As the the title says, I am wondering about how the focus accuracy compares with these lenses.

It sometimes looks like the focus is all over the place when I'm using the af-d on my D3s. Would it be worth the money to buy the af-s g lens?

I bought the af-d a couple of years back because I had a Nikon FM2n, and I kept the lens after I bought the D3s because of the apperture ring.

I just sold the FM2n and I'm wondering if there's any point in keeping the af-d if the af-s g has better focus accuracy.

I don't know about focus accuracy but the g lens is much sharper, and has better contrast wide open, it also has less distortion
