Focused Photo of the Month - Continue?

There were no nominations for the third Focused Photo of the Month, in January 2026. Do you, the members of the forum want to continue this contest?

If so, we will start it back up in March.

Yes, we should continue with this contest. I do have a question though. When it comes to focus what are we really dealing with? Take this image for instance... This was taken by webstang64 and nominated for the focus p[icture of the month. While I find it an interesting image as I do have an appreciation for vintage American automobiles, I fail to understand the 'focused' nature of it. It seems rather unfocused to me. Could it be that what we are really striving for is an example of proper depth of field, where only a small portion of the image is in focus? I might be more inclined to participate in a focused picture contest if I understood more what the goal is.

You need to read the first post on instructions, it tells you what the focus or "theme/topic" is on. In the example you posted this was from December 2025 Focus, the theme for this was -"This month's focused topic is: Automotive and Transportation". As such anything to do with automotive or transportation fits the theme/topic....even a close up picture of a steering wheel.

Yes, there is a theme for each month. I picked the term "Focused" over "Themed".

It's possible the cold has something to do with it.
