I bought a new Rokinon 85mm 1.4 lens that is manual.. I was doing some research on manual focus and read about focusing screens, which seem to help when focusing manually. I looked at a couple different websites and they have several different types for my D5100. Is the split image microprism the best way to go?

Thank you.

It's the most common, if memory serves.

Split image is the most common, but there are lots of types available now. The screen I use has a split prism in the center, surrounded by a ring of microprisms, surrounded by a coarse matte. Each is useful in different settings I've found.

I picked mine up from Focusing Screen.

That's the standard split prism screen analog.universe is describing. I've got the Katzeye optics one in my D200. Will buy another in a heartbeat, I'll actually budget for it when I upgrade my camera.
