Was this SOOC, or did you do any editing? In post I might be tempted to selectively lighten the fog in the background just a bit, for a little more contrast with the silloutes , but other then that I like it.

No, this was heavily edited. I was going for a spooky, soft look.

I get it, thing like this catch my eye too. I understand you are going for a soft look but I agree the fog needs lightened, currently it just looks underexposed to my eyes. Not saying it should be bright white, but hinting at it in the brightest area. I wonder if adding in a dark frame around it in post so it's just a touch wider and appears that the viewer is standing well in the shadow, peaking through a clearing in the trees might work too.

I like the shot though, it's pretty cool

I don't know why, but when I look at the photo on my laptop, I can see different tones in the leaves of the trees and vegetation which gives depth. Here on my phone though, it seems they are all the same and the image is much darker.
