how do we get the sort of level of people that TPF gets ?

Having a good bunch of moderators that keep a lid on it, even if some people get their toes nipped a little.

Well, making a site which is appealing is the obvious one. First it's got to make people want to stay there. That's down to the content, however that gets there (you, other people posting, etc.).

Also, you've got to get people to know the place exists. I'll spam you with some links.
