I’m new to this forum . And would love to get help and advice from others who have the photo skills. I have a Nikon coolpix and struggle getting a clear picture. Idk if I’m shaking or what i am doing wrong. I have it in easy mode also

Hi, Charles.

Which Coolpix? I know some folks who have the P1000, and they get great photos.

What seems to be the problem with your pics? Are they out of focus or do they suffer motion blur? Are they dark or light or noisy?

If you think shaking is part of the problem, then try some shots on a tripod. If you don't have a tripod, put the camera on a rock or steady it against a tree.

Post some example pics here and we will help you.

i have the L120. I’m just finding that I get blurry pictures but that might be because of my unstable hands. Any suggestions or tips

Use a monopod or tripod.

Howdy and welcome! The number one challenge with easy or auto mode is that the camera will often set a slow shutter speed to compensate for the lighting, and even with IS that can translate into motion blur in the images. Learn to use manual or shutter priority mode and work with shutter speeds of 640 or faster. In manual mode you will need to experiment with the aperture for lighting. If you use shutter priority, the camera will pick the aperture. Longer focal lengths can also result in blurred images. As noted, a tripod or monopod can help compensate. Post some of your images along with exif information (shutter speed, aperture, ISO, focal length) and give us a look.

Posting some examples would help tremendously. Without this we are just stabbing in the dark.
