What's interesting is that these were cropped. I usually don't do that, but for these I felt it might be a good idea.

In my opinion, I like to see the subject off center with more space in the direction the bird is facing and less space behind. Like this

again, this is just my humble opinion and not some hard a fast rule.

I agree with the comment regarding trying some compositions without having the subject positioned dead center in the frame. It's just a guideline, but I think it applies to the wildlife images in this thread (just my opinion).
