#1

Missouri River Flood 2011 by Lyonsroar91, on Flickr

Self Critique: would have liked to get more bracketed exposures in, but I was handholding because I left my tripod at home. With there was more foreground interest. The radio pole is distracting.

Missouri River Flood 2011 by Lyonsroar91, on Flickr

Self Critique: better than #1. I like how the road leads into the scene. Radio pole still distracting.

#3

Self Critique: taken out of a sunroof from a car doing 65 MPH. Nice and clear. Wish the clouds towards the back were more defined.

#4

Self Critique: nice colors, not sure if the bridge works in silhouette, should have taken in landscape, but I think portrait works to emphasize the verticality.

I really like #2, it is the most appealing to me. I would have liked to see it framed using the "rule of thirds" to give the road more of a defined place to go. I hope that makes sense.

I love the colors in them all! Nice Job.

The first two I just don't find particularly interesting, but they do have nice colors! The first, looks like its leaning very slightly to the left. The radio tower could easily be cloned out since its against a simple background.

I really do like the 3rd photo! The wind turbines look like they should be straightened up a bit as well.

For the forth, I think the bridge silhouette could work, but its hard to really make out in the photo against a dark background. Perhaps from a different angle, and as you suggested already in landscape mode. You did capture some beautiful colors in the sky!

for #1 and 2, if there is a flood I would make it more prominent because I had a hard time telling where the water was.
I like the vertical for #4, although with a wide angle you could have made landscape work as well. great colors.

The colors are amazing. In picture 1, I don't think the radio pole is distracting. I think that it draws the eye to the sky.
