And she told me where she wanted to go, I realize that the sun is killer in a few of them lol

Yes, the sun is too harsh and causing shadow on the faces. A reflector or even some fill flash might have helped. Next time.

I'm not an expert and just starting out myself..but #2 is my favorite! I think some of the later ones are a bit too "busy" in the background. I like the first one but the only thing that bugs me is the red shirt against a red background. Again, i'm no expert..i'm just here to learn!

Holy tilted horizons.

I kinda cropped all but the last one like that, the last one i didnt notice until today, thats what i get for doing 2am edits lol, thats one of the things i usually look for but for some reason i thought it looked better

The sun is quite bright.. any way I like #1, #9 & #10.

Um, yeah, the sun was really harsh, lots of blown highlights and squinting. The people aren't even looking at the camera in most of them, or are looking all directions in group shots. Honestly, they just look like candids & snapshots.

Do you think they'd agree to a reshoot at a different time of day? And at a different place where you don't have a parking lot in the background? If so, you could also spend some time looking up posing since that's not something you normally have to work with. At least have the mom sit up straight, my spine hurts just looking at her.

your photos are out of focus. address that first. next i would suggest take advantage of the lake and get in the boat and do a shoot on the boat.

Agreed with the above mentioned comments about the sun and stuff but I would also look at how you are posing the family. They are so far from eachother and it doesn't "close" your picture. Work on leveling them to where they seem "connected" because without that it just looks awkward... just my opinion :)
