Fresh From The Fields

[Dean_Gretsch]

Took Miss Daisy to the farm fields so she could run off the leash today. A few things noticed there:

1 Moth

2 Spiny-Backed Orb Weaver

3 At least the Chicory is pretty!

I actually love spiders I just really like the DOF on the moth. It's almost like a painting!!

Fantastic shots! I agree with Paige, the moth is awesome! The spiny orb weaver is a close second, not that the chicory is too shabby either, but you know I favor critters.

Thanks Jeff. You know, I didn't even notice the antenna until post, lol.

Nice set. I took a pic of a white with red spikes orb weaver spider awhile back and assumed it was a crab spider because of it's crab shell looking back. Now I know it wasn't a crab spider, thanks!

Thanks Kirk. I remember that pic. I did take a few pics of a tiny yellow crab spider, but binned them. The highlights were unrecoverable.

A bit different view of the orb weaver. I think this one makes it almost look alien.

[Jeff G]

That's the stuff sci-fi is is made of!

[Dean_Gretsch]

Thanks Jeff. These are so different from other spiders, I can't help but try and get some closeups.

[Jeff G]

I don't blame you, they really are pretty neat looking.

[K9Kirk]

Agreed, it does look alien like. Just take a gawk at queenies head here:

I'm watching the movie again tonight for the 30th time with a friend who's never seen it, if you can believe that! lol! (Yes, "Aliens" is my all time favorite movie)

How's about a nice face hug.
