Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
Hello! My first post and hope it is the proper forum.
I am a senior trying to revive interest in good photography and just purchased a Sony Cybershot DSC-HX100v.
Lots to learn but reasonably easy.
My question; Since I will experiment taking the same photo in different modes ( intelligent auto, scenes, manual)
is there a way to indicate which one used when I put them onto my PC so I know which mode produced
best image- or to I just make notes as I go along and put that mode in the picture tag

Thanks.

If you view the images with the software supplied with the camera, it is more likely to show all of the 'as shot' information.

The camera will number the shots and should give a read out of the settings as mentioned above. But if you use it enough youll probably just start to remember the different modes off the top of you head and how they will change the pictures outcome.

In the world of photography there are 2 kinds of 'senior'.

Pro shooters shoot high school senior portraits (seniors), and people over 55 years old (seniors), like me.

Digital cameras include a long list of metadata (data about data) along with the photo. That list of metadatat is know as EXIF data (Exchangeable image file format: Exchangeable image file format - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

Thanks for replies. From what I understand now is that I will have write a note on which camera mode I used and record this on the photo comments/tag after it is on my PC. No software is going to visually record if I used Intelligent Auto vs. Manual or Program .
I know software like Picasa will show f stops, iso, etc. My Sony PMB only shows date and approx. time. Anyway, after numerous shots, I will start remembering how I got them and just enjoy the fun and be less concerned with data .

If you have made a setting on the camera, the camera records that in the picture.
Do a search for EXIF and read.
Then look for an EXIF Reader - usually free - that you can download.
