Hello everybody

This is the first time I'm uploading my pictures for review, so any comments you may have would be most welcomed. Now, I realize the topic isn't the most original... but I believe it's normal for all newbies. Hope you like it

Oh by the way, they don't have any editing or cropping, even though they probably could use some cuts... And they're handheld since I didn't have my tripod around...

on #1 I would crop out a good chunk of the water and make it all about the soaring birds. Crop it so the sun isnt centered.

Love #1! Dunno if a crop is needed, but would be interesting to see, like spacefuzz is talking about.

I agree about number one. I really like the second photo, it might look better just a bit more exposed and with some of the foreground cropped off so it's not as centered. I love the deep blues of it though. It's a 'moody' photo. Also on the first one the horizon is a bit tilted. I'm a newbie too :)

Great start and photo introduction to the forum.

Hey! Thank you all for the feedback!

Tried to crop #1 several times, but can't find one I like better than the original. Here's another version, where I cut a piece of water and some sky, too. Oh, and I also moved one of the birds so the right end of the picture doesn't look that empty... But I still prefer the original, I guess :P
By the way, it's not tilted, it's just a bay.

Now for #2, I believe this cropped version is better than the original. I also tried to correct the underexposure a little bit. Hope you like it. I wish I knew more about Photoshop editing, because I'd like to emphasize the reds a little bit.

Anyway, thanks again to all three of you. Have a nice day!

I like the original #1 as well. Although it does look like it's tilted to the left.

On #2, I love the sky in the original and the crop & water on the edit. Generally you want to avoid having the horizon be right smack dab in the middle. But something with your edit made the colors in the sky go wonky.

Thank you for your edit KmH on #1! Although I still prefer the original, I appreciate you took the time to do that.
I wish I could find a crop where the sun isn't centered and that I like... I'll keep working on it, but I believe my composition wasn't that good when taking the picture... I was in a hurry since I didn't know for how long were those birds going to keep dancing for me

You're right redessa, something wen't wrong with that sky on #2. I was trying to compensate the underexposure in the mountains without burning the sky... I guess I went a little too far... That proves my editing skills are yet to improve A LOT...

Well... Thank you all again for your feedback, and I'll be uploading more pics soon. It feels so good to have my photos reviewed by more experienced photographers!

throw C&C into your thread title next time ^^

KmH (as usual ; let me again present the idea of developing a midget sized version of him for travel convenience) cropped it quite nicely. the second one didnt really strike me as underexposed, however i would crop out most of the water, so that it occupied around one third of the picture

Thanks!
By the way... what does C&C actually mean?

I am a newb, but I am assuming C&C means critique and comment.
