I'm not feeling or seeing it. You have an almost dead tree with a dramatic sky. I am trying to figure out what you want me to see. The tree just seems like it is messing up a good photo of a great sky or a great sky messing up a photo of a special tree that no one has a clue about it's importance. I can't offer any advise on how to fix. It has excellent framing to understand the height and that is not easy, so that interests me.

The swirl of the tree is a continuation of the swirl in the sky or vice/versa. I thought it was rather obvious, but I guess not.

I like the composition and the swirly element. I do think, though, that it could have a tad but more contrast: I'd like to see the silhouetted limbs be a little darker. They are not quite black as I see them.

I actually opened up the shadows in the limbs a bit because I thought the silhouette looked a bit too contrived. I was trying to incorporate both cloud and tree detail to be seen as one object as if, if you would grant me a bit of artistic interpretation, it was a lamp lighting a ceiling, rather than one against the other as if showing a lamp and shade.

Half the time I spend in the woods, I spend looking up. Up is so often an overlooked dimension to landscapes. Let me see what I can do as per building a better contrast without losing my original intent. Thanks for the input.
