I received this little guy a few days ago (thanks to pixmedic), and I've been having fun with it around town. I've never done any sort of product shoot before, so I'm sure there is a lot I did wrong. Please feel free to instruct me in any way.

The reason for the red light is I had to use a 4 second exposure to get the exposure I wanted. My speedlight was flashing while the shutter was open. I actually kind of liked the red light, so I tried it in front and in back. Thoughts?

Hmm, not sure if I like the red light.
4s exposure seems a little extreme when shooting with a flash.
What is the lighting setup ?

Lose the strap.
Straighten the name on the lens cap.

I thought so too. I had a speedlight on full power about 2 feet from the camera.

Hmm, that does not sound right.
Looking at your images again, and based on the right lighting, your Speedlite was off camera to the right ?
If so, it does not look like it was triggered.

Yes, that's correct. Yeah, something went wrong. I'll have to check it tomorrow.
