Galaxy Nexus: First attempt at stock photography.

So I just got the Galaxy Nexus released today by Verizon in the US. Figured it was a good chance to try my hand at stock photography. What do you guys think?

Provided you understand that Stock Photography sites won't take Trademarked or recognizably trademarked products. Unless you meant what do you think of my Product shot?

Looks good, try some other shots, they like shots of products in hands and other setting.
Just to clarify thing, You can submit an image to a stock site with a trademarked product. But the buyer of the image is limited to Editorial use, not commercial use so that limits your income potential. In other words if a newspaper was doing a story on Coke vs Pepsi they could buy and use an image of two cans for that use. But if a retail store wanted to put an image of a trademarked phone in their ad they couldn't from stock images

I think the DoF is a little bit too shallow. And the lighting seems a little bit harsh, because there is a strange orange-ish shadow underneat the left corner of the phone. Or maybe the light off camera to the right is just too bright when compared to the other side? I hope that makes sense.

I don't do very much product photography, so I'm just saying what I immediately see.

I agree with rexbobcat about the DoF being a bit too shallow. For a photo of a product like this, it'd be good to have everything in focus, every little feature the phone has clearly visible, whether it's the buttons on the side or the battery indicator on the screen. The shot could also benefit from better lighting, such as a couple off-camera flashes, so you can use a higher aperture and also get rid of the shadows on the left side of the phone (in which we can see traces of the ambient lighting, which is a bit distracting). The white balance is a bit off (it's on the cool side), but other than that, the colors are vibrant and clear. It's a good start.

odly enough the ad above your photo was a galaxy phone, the differences were the ad had better DOF, lighting, and color saturation.
