Well its getting toward the end of the season but my sunflowers are still alive. We recently had some strong winds which broke a few of them so I spent a few hours getting rid of the broken and securing the good ones. Probably only a few weeks left before frost so don't have much time to enjoy them but I am glad they reached 12ft at least, I think some are near 16 feet. Next year I wanna grow those giant sunflowers...

Well that was a waste of time, wound up filling the belly of some rabbit. All of them eaten down to the ground. I’ve always lost one or two, but never a whole dozen in one night.Put in a dozen broccoli, should have started putting the garden to bed and cleaning it up for winter, but I’m lazy. lol
Was late again so set out plants from the farm co-op instead of starting my own.
Every thing is dying back seems early, must have been the hot dry summer.
These have bloomed to perfection, haven't they? No wonder you're happy with them, each one is gorgeous. (Cute picture of the gardener with her Otto's Thrill.)A few new dahlias have bloomed. This is my Cafe Au Lait. She’s gorgeous!!

Mystery dahlia name unknown. I got it at a dahlia swap. It’s super dark almost a chocolatey deep red.

Your garden is so lush, and mine is so...dead. Hubby was just out there, digging up two of the dead Blue Princess Ilex bushes. The landscape company actually replaced the dead Blue Prince, and two others that looked half dead might still hang on. All the coneflowers are spent, and most of the Rudbeckia has died and shriveled from all the rain. It's pretty sad out there. Glad it's almost October!
