wow stunning
I only started doing flowers since my wife Rebecca died: to keep going what she started She did the flowers and I did the food growing.
Thank you! It's therapeutic, and way to remember. In Daniel's case, there is no gravesite to visit, so this is something I can connect to.

I can understand, Rebecca had one of those no fuss no frills no one there type cremations. So like you no grave. She loved her flowers and gardening I made and bought raised planters for her . So for me doing flowers is.. well you get it.

Well off to bed for me just doing a photo back up and called in here whilst waiting Night all

We got our first snow of the winter, barely a dusting. Gone by 10AM, I slept in and almost missed it. I was going to put in potatoes and the broccoli plants today but guess I’ll wait, lol.

Things are finally waking up here. Although we have snow expected Tues and Wed ☹️.

Tulips are almost all showing.

The Honeysuckle I planted last year is starting to show signs of life. It’s close to the back gate and I’m looking forward to the way the amazing scent greets us when we enter.

Hi peg, I see that you mulch. I top dress with horse compost each winter. This close to the beach, sub 300 yards, the soil is very sandy and full of beach stone/shells.

Yes the front of our house is south facing so really need to mulch to keep the soil from baking. We have clay-ish soil. It tends to get really compacted. I mix in compost and fresh soil when I plant to keep things fresh.

I'm jealous of everyone who has flowers already! We are in full stick season here. It's the ugliest time of year for us.
Same here. A few things are poking through the dirt, and I'm noticing buds on some of the trees, but mostly it's still dead looking. Feels more like "late winter" than early spring. March is a tough month, I say!

We have black gumbo clay here, and it gets tougher to work each year. I used to dig into that stuff with a spading fork and add soil amendments, but it's just too much work anymore. Our stink trees (Bradford Pear) are starting to bud. Pretty, but they smell awful.

Even though second winter has begun, to the grass I must mow.

The weekly ritual began last week, but it was 74 most days, (false spring), the next 10 days it will barely be above 50 and a freeze watch most nights.

But the grass doesn’t care, once it busts loose it has to be cut at least once a week until Aug.
