I know this is somewhat a broad question, but what are some good general settings for my Speedlite Flash (Sigma EF 610 DG Super Flash for Nikon 189306) for Night Club photography?

*I use the Nikon D3000

Sorry to inform, but "good general settings" happens to be an oxymoron in photography :(

The correct settings are the ones that play well with the correct aperture and shutter speed. Which in turn are the ones that play well with available ambient light, motion of subject, and depth of field requirements. Also a factor is the distance from the flash to the subject, and if you'll be bouncing it, shooting it through something, etc...

Strobist has a great 101 series and also great in depth articles  he concentrates on off camera flash.. so not everything will apply. but all the stuff about exposure will be the same either way.

Im using the 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR that came with it.

There are no 'general settings' anyone can recommend. you need to read both the flash units users manual and those parts of the camea manual that deal with using flash.

Do you want any ghosting? If the strobe is set to sync with the front shutter curtain any ghosting will preceded the direction of motion, and set to sync to the rear shutter curtain the ghosting will trail the direction of motion.

Do you plan on dragging the shutter? How much light will there be in each club?

Do you plan to use Nikon's iTTL system or are you going to control the strobe and camera manually?
