I've got a 350D that I need to get some RAW images off, but as I'm away from my normal PC (in Riyadh), this is proving tricky as I don't have the cameras original disk with me (in UK). Is there anything free out there that I can use? Canon downloads only allow me to upgrade if I have the disk.
I should have expanded a little. I need to get the files off and be able to convert them from RAW into JPG. Just thought there might be a utility out there that could perform the task at very low (no) cost.
many raw converters can be downloaded and are useable for a week or two before you have to purchase the licence. I tried some of them (like Bibble Pro and Breeze Browser) before deciding which one to purchase. So as an intermediate solution you could just try this way...
By some strange coincidence, that was the option I was considering next and your own results with Bibble Pro were what would have pointed me down that particular route. Now I need a CF card reader...
You get what you pay for. Especially RAW converters. The quality varies. I don't think that the $199 for Adobe Lightroom or Nikon Capture NX's canon equivalent is too much to ask for what can be done with the software.
go to the canon website , they have programs available for downloading that will do this converting for you. also piscas2 will convert raw files and it is free.
