getting ready for her big day

looking for c&c i haven't posted anything in a while ... I took this a couple weeks ago, i think she is such a beautiful bride. Although i have been a photography for quite some time, I have always been a natural lighting kinda person, and this is my first time using flash. I think I did ok, but I think I was so focused on bouncing the flash, exposure, focus, etc that I put composition on the back burner. we were all so crowded in this little room, it was probably 8x8 room full of junk (and people) I wish I could've gotten the mirror to fit in the photo that she was looking into. Please let me know what you think.

While this is a nice shot and your typical must get shot. I don't think its anything 'special'. Don't get me wrong, I would of done the same exact thing. But its just a shot to me.

Theres a girl in the back doing nothing for the picture, so she's a distraction.

Theres a head in the bottom right, distraction.

Theres also a lot of red behind her, I'm guessing the mother? Her dress? Distracting because I can't see her and makes me wonder.

Also the girl on the right, I don't like hair covering the face.

Okay, enough nit picking. You get my point.

Its a nice shot, still.

I like the lighting on the brides face, nice and soft. Very nicely done.

And I love the splash of red or orange in her hair, very nice touch of detail.

What would I like to be different? Maybe a spot light effect, with the ambient overpowered with the flash and like she was the center of attention? Less clutter (I know thats next to impossible), and better faces showing.

Thanks. I just thought I lit the subject pretty good in a rather dark room haha. The girl in the orange was the maid of honor. I have no idea why she wore orange, this wedding was thrown together in about 2 weeks, I was also a bridesmaid so doing any kind of photos were kind of difficult. And the only photos she got of the actual ceremony were cell phone pics :/
