Sorry but no, that is not correct, even if that is what you read (so much for sensationalized journalism).
Tonight the Moon will be 356577 km from Earth and 14% larger than it is at it's average distance from Earth every month.

The full Moon next month will be 358087 km from Earth, a distance difference of only 1510 km (0.0042%, less than 1/2 of 1%)
On Sept 28 the Moon will be 357555 km away. On May 6, next year it will only be 356953 km away, only 376 km difference, or a distance difference of only 0.001%.

In Colorado, USA we had thick low-lying mist and clouds above which the moon had to rise before any capture was possible. At approximately 30 degrees above the horizon it started to be fairly crisp (when the image below was made) despite the remaining mist and moisture.
