going to mexico

and im scared ****less. but its my dads wedding so im obligated to go. i will be with my family the whole time but thats not the point.

anyway i was just wondering can i bring my camera? they say you can only bring one nonprofessional camera and a max of 12 rolls of film. i only plan on bringing 4 rolls, but my camera on the other hand is a magnesium body canon 1N, i guess i shouldnt bring the grip.

why do they have this rule? should i expect to get hassled? im just a tourist not a professional.

You can bring your camera if you want. Even your L lens. flashes. Photographers from all around the world are shooting weddings and bikini calendar in Mexican resorts every day.

Travelling internationally is such a rewarding experience, you get to witness new cultures, people and get to see the most amazing things. Mexico will be particularly colourful, and so I recommend a good set of lenses and a flash if you really want it, I personally don't use flash when travelling as it just draws unnecessary attention!

If your worried about travelling don't be, if you act calm, collected and look like you know what you are doing most thiefs and pick pockets will leave you alone but if your 6ft 2 and weight 15 stone that helps to.

P.S Always have a good insurance policy, for absolute safety!

Hmmm, maybe you guys in the UK don't get all of the news from America, but Mexico's not very safe for Americans these days. Lots of kidnappings, murders, etc.

my flight alone has 35 of my family members, i just have anxiety. i love traveling but i dont even feel comfortable being in other cities even in america. one time we stopped for gas in kansas and it was just so surreal and bizarre how they lived.

I'm aware that last year 35,000 people died in the drug war waging in Mexico, but if you know people locally which your post suggests, they will know the areas to avoid.
