Got my first gig!

Well I got my first payed gig...and it's not for music, oddly enough

One of the brass quintets at my school (Peabody Conservatory) needed publicity photos for their ensembele and asked if I could do them. Because thay're friends, I want to give them a good price, so any advice on that or the actual shooting....please speak up!

I will be shooting a bunch of shots with my D70 for easy editing and use online, as well as a roll of B&W film.

I'm excited

Congratulations!! This is a great opportunity to start building up your profesional body of work. I wouldn't be too concerned with the money, ask them what they are looking to pay. Capitalism is the downfall of this country!

Might be good to give us some more info. Do they have a certain thing that the photos will be used for, that might affect what style you decide to go with? Things like that..

I agree, I wouldn't worry about the money so much...especially since they are friends...personally, I'd get them to pay for the film, developing, and beer and pizza (or whatever...a week's worth of Not on Sunday). Make sure that you get to keep full copyright control in exchange for gratis work and then everyone wins this round.
