you probably won't read this but here it goes.

Well I went to my cousin's 8th grade play figured I would take the good old 80-200 2.8 to test it out at a play setting. Well I didn't get a good seat and was back a bit too far. However, is the out come figured I'd share. It was fun, but hard at the same time. I only took pictures a few acts so I could watch and enjoy the rest. All were taken from my seat.

Should have cloned the tree and bench out, but since it's for fun and not profesional and they are probably never being seen by anyone else, I don't care. :blushing:

Those look really good for low light, they are very clear, also the color looks really good for the skin tones. What camera were you shooting with?

little late, was using D7000 and 80-200 af-d 2.8

How are you liking the 80-200 af-d? How's the af speed on it?

Despite what everyone said, they told me go for 70-200 VR or older 80-200 af-s, but it is shooting amazing so far. I shot a baseball game I and here are the results.. little cloudy/overcast day but came out well for my first baseball game I believe.

Looks to focus fast enough. I'm sure the d7000 helps lol. I've been thinking about it. Ive read the 80-200 afs is better than the 70-200 vr1. Less vignetting, same optics, fast focus, and all metal build. Of course, that's just reading. I wish I can try one lol.

Yes I was hesitant to buy used lens or the 80-200 new, but I just went with it and it seems to be working well enough so far no complaints!

Good to know. The 80-200 is relatively inexpensive.

yes and for my uses as of now it is has met all my needs.
