Great Blue Heron Hacking

GBH hacking up something, didn't catch what it was. Maybe a feather, it was preening when I first saw it.

There you go again with the Herons. Very nice set. I guess I am just going to have to go out to the lake and take some photos.

Hacking, great descriptive words and a decent set of take.

A cunning plan again deployed I see. Using the natural surroundings of the reeds to mask the fact the water is not level

 

A year or two ago, I watched one stalking something in the field behind where I work. It grabbed what looked like a good-sized rat a swallowed it. The heron then proceeded to yack it up and re-swallow at least three times before it finally moving on.

Thank you. The reeds are very affective in that way. Next plan ... to prevent you from being able to detect when something is centered. This one will be very tricky.

Its currently 6 and windy here, I'm barely willing to leave the house to go to work let alone photograph anything.
