Hi guys, This is my first posting to these forums. I am a landscape photographer from Northern Ireland. I'd like to show you my latest project to photograph some of County Antrim's remote sea caves. Some of these secret places have never been photographed from the inside. Many of the photos are based upon old etchings from the 1800-1900s. The adventurous Victorians used to row into these places. As you can imagine, the project has been a highly dangerous undertaking. Many of the caves require steep climbing on tidal cliffs. All are HDR images comprising up to 6 blended images spanning as much as 10 stops !! Here's the photographs so far. There are more ongoing, including one which is over 80 foot high. Heya. Welcome Andy! What a wonderful project! Thanks for joining to show us. I am deeply impressed! How did you get all your gear safely into those steep, slippery caverns, I wonder? Tripod, camera ... all that! It is an amazing project. Brilliant results. Show us more, will you?
Thanks guys, Yes the logistics are quite challenging. Getting a tripod into these places is far from easy. You can read more about the project here http://www.andymcinroy.com/5port.htm The victorians used to come into these caves by boat. Nobody visits them now. Andy www.skyandstone.com
Very nice series, and it looks like you are matching your photos to the carvings. Impressive. Can't wait to see more.
