Great time to be a Canon consumer

So finally, it has been officially confirmed that EF 24-70 II will be delayed till July and 1D X till mid June. What a great turn around for all the folks who have preordered a 1D X last OCTOBER at the announcement. I sure hope Canon loses BIG points for this little screw up, maybe next time they won't post availability dates so easily. Or if they really hit a wall with mass production, maybe next time they will inform people to what went wrong. (Hopefully they will)

I've heard Nikon have had a few mess-ups in the past too so nobody is perfect?

All these wonderful news right in the midst of a possible 5D mark III recall.

Ahh...what a great time to be a Canon consumer. The only thing left now is to start recalling 600EX'es and 70-200mm II's.

If 5D does get recalled for a serious reason, I might as go back to my P&S or seriously consider getting a D4 instead..

Now that I look at all of my photos, I've realized that all of them are terrible because I didn't use the newest technology.

If 5D's get recalled I'll just attach that 70-200 to my P&S. I heard you get excellent IQ and no CA, you just need a lot of duct tape.

But the problem is that big companies don't really care about people that much and they think they can do whatever the heck they want.

But hopefully public opinion can be strong enough and through trial and error it can force those big companies into playing ball better with the consumer.

Did anyone actually preorder 24-70 II or 1D X? Is (was) anyone excited about either or? Has anyone had similar experiences with Nikon?

This is simply not true, at least not as a blanket statement. Where I work, we kill ourselves along with our partners, on trying to get the product on time for this reason. If we don't we lose out to our competitors, we get bad press, and we get bad public opinion such as the opinion expressed in this post. This whole big business vs. the little man, big business doesn't care about the little man mentality is just socialist rhetorical nonsense.
