When I first came here in 2008, I was hoping to graduate to snap-shotter. My pics were laugh-ably throw-away-able.
I finally did graduate to snap-shotter where my pics were un-forget-ably forget-able. These were the photos that I thought putting a ribbon on would somehow make them better. How wrong I was.
Then I finally graduated to amateur photographer where I had a real desire to become better and grow in this attractive area of life. I finally stopped just shooting everything and really started focusing on what was in the scene I wanted. After studying my photos and listening to the critiques and suggestions of others, I started to hone the skill a little more.
Now, I feel, I have become much more. I'm not a pro as I don't make money doing it. But I don't like calling myself an amateur photographer any more as it doesn't seem to be where I am.
Long story, short, may I now call myself a photography hobbyist? Considering all the lenses I bought, the step-up and step-down rings and various adapters to connect old glass to this 1000d, I figure I deserve the term hobbyist as my skill level is no longer snap-shotter...well...I don't think so...there may be others that are doing so well and have such a talent that my current level of photography still produces photos of laughable quality.
Thanks for reading this waste of bandwidth.
